Top Notch’s inclination toward her hard times and struggles has enhanced her talents as a freestyle rhymer. She digs deep, transforming the turbulence of her own life, as well as incorporating her personal swag. Critics and peers agree Top Notch has distinguished herself as one of the premier rap artist in the Greater Northwest area. A native of Houston, TX, Top Notch (born Kris Harrison) has a story to tell and a message that everyone can learn.

Only 24 years old, she has experienced and overcome the pain of her father physically and emotionally abusing her schizophrenic mother, which she later dropped out of school and joined the military to support. This action also inspired her to focus on herself and her passion for music that is nothing short of a heartbeat that keeps her going on a daily basis.

By far, her music is not depressing or give the “Woo is me” blues. The message that screams to the listener is, “You can do ANYTHING you set your mind and heart on.” Although she has not followed the typical “right way,” she established her own set of “my way” rules, which keeps her focused. Her goal is to make people feel good while teaching in the process.

Top Notch has performed at numerous local venues and her songs have been played on popular online radio stations including www.virtualdjradio.com, www.stickam.com/dj1love and Q93.9 fm. She is currently working on her debut CD titled, Back Against the Wall. A few lines from her debut song that has proven to be a instant hit is, “Just keep ya head up, cause things are getting better/ I running the shit and I’m doing my thang/ can’t stop me now betta get out my lane/ get outta my way, a chick coming through riding on 22’s acting a fool.” She has the ability and talent to command attention and let the world know what she stands for!
